How can you help? One way is to help us to offer a balanced food parcel that contains different types of food. This list is updated here and on our Facebook page.

We really appreciate you donating from the list below as it avoids an excess of some foods and a shortage of others.

The Most Useful Foods

Please note that all food collected is non-perishable, long-life or tinned. Thanks for your help. ​

We have an URGENT need for many items. Please see the blue URGENT list below.

 

The red list at the end tells you the food items that we have lots of (and do not need at the moment).

WE HAVE AN URGENT NEED FOR:

(In order of how urgent they are.)

  • UHT milk (semi and full)

  • Tinned meat: minced, bolognese, chilli, stewed, chicken in sauce

  • Tinned fruit

  • Packets of rice

  • Tinned potatoes

  • Tinned vegetables: sweetcorn, peas and carrots

  • Dried mashed potato (like Smash)

  • Small jars of sandwich paste
  • Crackers (Like Jacobs crackers) 
  • Tinned mixed beans such as lentils and chickpeas (no more baked beans, thank you)
  • Tinned rice pudding

  • Instant coffee

  • Sugar (small bags if possible)

  • Cereals

  • Pasta sauce

  • Cereal bars

  • Tinned beans with sausages (for snacks or breakfast--no more baked beans please)

  • Jam

We don’t currently need, please do not donate:

  • Baked beans

  • Soup 

  • Tinned Pasta

  • Dried Pasta

  • Tinned Fish

  • Snacks such as small bags of nuts, cereal bars, chocolate bars, dried fruit for lunch boxes and homeless.

  • Tins of beans (red kidney beans, chickpeas... etc.)

  • Toothpaste

  • Toothbrushes

  • Shower gel

  • Feminine products--sanitary towels and tampons

  • Used, clean, strong 'bags for life', strong carrier bags 

  • Jars or pouches of baby food

  • Packets of Rice (500g if possible)

  • Jars of curry sauce to go with rice

  • Tinned meatballs

  • Hot chocolate

Christmas Suggestions

Please continue to donate from our lists above. However, the following could be welcome treats at Christmas. Please avoid bulky items that can be difficult to store and deliver. Thank you for your generosity and Christmas wishes.

  • Luxury brands rather than own brand foods (E.g., luxury packs of biscuits and crackers for cheese)

  • Chocolate coins
